can't wait to sit on it!

--the new front porch, that is. Boy, alot got done today. It was so cold and the guys still worked all day today. There were snow flurries when I went out to take pics! The porch looks really great so far. I love the new porch posts. Everything is done on the roof and dormers/gutters all that stuff. I just can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! The third bedroom will be done tomorrow morning and the carpet for that room and our room will come on Thurs. I cannot wait to get back into my own bed. The air mattress we've been sleeping on isn't cutting it, after several weeks. Gram now wants only a twin bed in her room, so she can fit more. We will have to get it out of storage probably on Thurs. sometime. I am going to order new drapes and bedding for the three bedrooms sometime this week. Barry is pricing new storm doors as I type. We've been to Home Depot, Cluss's, and now he's at Lowe's. We need four of them, which means $$$x4. We are going to refinish the wood doors that are in place sometime, maybe this summer.

the progress is amazing

According to a very good source(across the street), we are the talk of the neighborhood! I just cannot believe the progress inside and out. Hopefully, the weather will continue to cooperate, which helps move things along. All of the dormers are done now. The carpet for our room and the computer room should arrive on Tues. or Fri. of next week. As you can probably guess our room is going to be green and the other room is brown/beige. Gram's is of course pretty pink. She has been doing really great through all of this. Would you believe she is even talking to "the guys"?!? Barry teases that she is the foreman of the whole operation, because nothing gets done without Grammy watching! So far we all have her stamp of approval. I think Scott said that the next big project will be the start of the new front porch. They poured the slab of concrete that the stairs are going to be built on, and even that amazes me. I am so excited to come home from work to see what got done that day! Karen even keeps me posted during the day as well. The new windows were installed this week and are very nice. No more cold drafts!!

i've been neglecting my duty!

Sorry for the huge delay, i'm only a wannabe computer geek and not very versed AT ALL in web design. I've decided to go the easier route and stick to my simple blogspot site. Things cont. to be crazy busy here on good ol' Turkeyfoot. The blown-in insulation is complete. It took 1 1/2days and left us much warmer already! Gram's room is also done and looks just beautiful. Dan is working on our room now. The ceiling is capped and the retro wallpaper is gone. I removed that piece of board with the bricks on it in front of the fireplace and found very nice woodwork and metalwork underneath. I'm sure Dan will clean it up and make it nice again. Surprisingly, things are moving along well, and pretty smoothly. Even though its Sat. the guys are out on the roof working and taking advantage of the very nice weather today. The dormers are done facing joe's and the front and look great! The 'victorian grey' siding along with the dark green fish-scale siding(on the sides of the dormers)was a perfect choice. With the new trim/soffit and fascia it just looks so square with nice clean lines. We are extremely pleased with all of the work so far. Gram seems to be pleased as well. Again, stay tuned!!
