almost all up to date

Well, those latest pics have been a long time coming. For some reason it is giving me trouble posting the last of the updates. I'll try again later. We have the porch frame up with the new poles. Scott has been working on the wrap around porch roof and it is going really well. Barry is ready to prep the old swing so we can hang it asap. Knock on wood, the weather has been really nice, so things are getting done quickly. Barry and the guys were working on some of the last electric, with the new breaker box and ?socket meter(i think that's what he called it) The inspector is coming on Tues. and as soon as possible the electric co. will run the new big line from the pole to the house. We are all just loving it. It's going to take quite a while to get organized again, but it's just such a good feeling getting it all done. The hallway carpet was put down this week, so all the interior stuff is done--for now. Gram is really happy with everything and holding up well. Hopefully, we'll get alot of nice hot summer days that she can lounge on the porches and get some fresh air. Keep an eye out for more pics--I'll try again later tonight.

Well, we now have a new storm door going into the basement and the side of the house facing Ruth's has the new victorian gray siding and white trim around the windows. It looks just great! The wrap around porch is no more and they are starting to build the new one this week. The siding makes such a drastic, very nice difference. Thankfully, even with all the updates the house still has that unique old-time feel. We were very specific with all the contractors that it was very important that we preserve that and they have done a great job. I should be posting more pics later today. Gram is very pleased as well and continues to be an excellent foreman.

April brings more changes!

Again, sorry for the delay. My tardiness doesn't mean things have slowed down here at all! I have been using my computer for boring turbo tax instead of this fun stuff. The front porch is coming along great. The wood ceiling with recessed lighting and the tendura staircase are both beautiful. This is the first of the tendura that has been put down and we are very very pleased. The back porch roof may be coming off this weekend, and if the weather allows, the tendura porch floor will be placed as well. It was really raining today, so that put a damper on the outside work. Dan has done a great job with the interior drywall and painting. The hallway and staircase is done in a faux finish, while the living and dining rooms are a nice solid green. You'll see the pics soon enough. I gotta get supper started. Stay tuned!!!
